 Hi, I'm Kevin Kurtz.

I remember my first writing assignment in 5^th grade didn’t go so well. I pursued sports, not writing, through high school. A writing class in college fanned an ember of desire to want to express myself by writing. I have family members who are artistic, others musically gifted. Me, I try to paint pictures with words.

Have you ever had a dream so real you wake up and remember every detail? I did one night many years ago: A young boy finds a pointy stick in the woodpile. He imagines it’s a powerful sword to fight the ogre in the forest. That dream became the premise for my first published children’s book, Mortimer and the Powerful Sword, in 2006. Two more Mortimer books completed the fantasy/adventure trilogy.

I’ve always been fascinated by the vastness of the universe. Surely there has to be intelligent life out there. One day, while watching an episode of Ancient Aliens on the History Channel, the topic of an alien race that visited Earth centuries ago, returning, I had an epiphany. A story formed in my head that I transferred to page. It took four years of edits, revisions, and clear perspective to bring “The Coming” to published form. Book II of this trilogy, “Imminent Return”, will soon be in print.

My greatest dream is for my writing to open doors of dialogue to discuss God without some of the spiritual trappings. My hope is that you will enjoy my stories and lead you to a deeper connection to Him.
